I’ve known Fr. Rex for fifteen years and can truthfully say that he is one of the great ones – in size, character, understanding and warmth.
I had cancer a few years ago and he visited me almost every day, a trip of over thirty-five miles each way. I’ve had several other hospitalizations and he’s always been there for me and my family.
In WW II I would have staked my life on Fr. Rex as would any of his buddies in the Viet Nam conflict. How often can you say that about any individual?
Fr. Rex is a very serious Christian. He sees life through the lens of his faith and acts accordingly. He gives excellent sermons tempered with humor and his own personal experience. His touch with children is almost magical; with adults, masterful. In short, Fr. Rex is better qualified to be a priest than any person I’ve ever known is my 85 years.
