Weiler
When I moved to Breckenridge fifteen years ago, I met the Rex Chambers family who were living across the street from me.  At that time, Rex was Manager of the Hilton Hotel in town.  He was known to always have time for his employees to hear their work or personal problems.  He also heard those in town who needed  help in their lives.

When he became a priest, these cares transferred to his parish family.  When Fr. Rex walked into the parish hall, the children would flock around him, hugging his legs.  He also kept in touch with the seniors of the parish, just to check in and make sure we were doing okay.  He organized a weekly men’s prayer breakfast, which is very important  to many of the men.  When a very close friend of mine was hospitalized with a diagnosis of cancer, Fr. Rex drove to Denver to call on this man, even though he had never met him.  They became friends over the course of that illness.  A few years later, when the family was taking this man off life support, Fr. Rex arrived at my home to sit with me while we waited to hear that my friend was gone.

He has often referred  to himself as a servant of The Servant.  Fr. Rex Chambers has truly shown us how to be followers of Jesus during our lives on this Earth.  He is a remarkable human being.

Sincerely,
Charlotte W. Weiler
